About Spain Info – Real Advice from Expats Living in Spain

Honest, practical information from someone who’s actually lived it.

Spain Info was founded by experienced expats who have successfully navigated life in Spain for over a decade. We understand the excitement, challenges, and opportunities that come with discovering Spain – whether for a holiday or a lifetime.

Our Mission

To provide honest, practical, and up-to-date information about living, working, and traveling in Spain. We believe everyone deserves access to reliable advice that can make their Spanish experience smooth and enjoyable.

What Makes Us Different

  • Real expat experience, not tourist perspectives
  • Updated information based on current Spanish regulations
  • Practical advice that actually works
  • Focus on both short-term visitors and long-term residents

Our team has personally dealt with Spanish bureaucracy, healthcare, housing, banking, and daily life. We share this knowledge freely to help others avoid common pitfalls and make the most of their time in Spain.

Hi, I’m Dave, and Spain has been our home for the past 11 years.

We’ve lived in 5 different towns across 3 Spanish regions – Murcia, Valencia, and Andalusia. Currently, we are based in Catral, a small town in the Valencia region, and we’ve experienced everything from coastal life to mountain villages, bustling cities to quiet pueblos.

Spain Info started because we kept getting asked the same questions by friends and family planning trips: “What’s the weather really like in April?” “Is it worth visiting in October?” “What should I pack?” “How do I actually move to Spain?”

We realized there was a gap between the generic travel blogs and the real, lived experience of being here. So we created this site to share honest, practical information about Spanish weather, travel planning, expat life, and all the little things you only learn by actually living here.

What You’ll Find Here

🏑 Living in Spain

For those thinking about relocating, I share the reality of expat life – banking, healthcare, residency, and everyday living.

πŸ”§ Resources

Curated tools, apps, and services that actually work in Spain (many of which I use myself).

Why Trust Spain Info?

  • βœ“ 11 years of living in Spain across multiple regions
  • βœ“ Real experience in 5 different towns (not just tourist hotspots)
  • βœ“ Updated regularly with current information
  • βœ“ No corporate sponsorships – just honest recommendations
  • βœ“ Transparent about affiliate links (they help keep this site running)

My Spain Journey

I didn’t move to Spain on a whim. Like many expats, it started with a visit, fell in love with the lifestyle, and decided to make it permanent. Over 11 years, I’ve:

  • Navigated the Spanish bureaucracy (TIE cards, empadronamiento, and all the paperwork)
  • Lived through scorching summers and surprisingly chilly winters
  • Learned enough Spanish to handle daily life (though I’m still working on it!)
  • Discovered hidden beaches, incredible hiking trails, and the best local restaurants
  • Made Spain my home, not just a place I live

Transparency & Affiliate Disclosure

Spain Info is a passion project, but it does cost money to run (hosting, tools, research, etc.). To keep this site free and independent, I use affiliate links for products and services I genuinely recommend.

This means if you book accommodation through a link on this site, sign up for a service I suggest, or purchase something I’ve recommended, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

I only recommend things I actually use or would use myself. Your trust matters more than any commission, so I’m always transparent about affiliations.
